On Thursday 18th September 2014 the GCSE English Literature and AS Performance Studies classes had the opportunity to visit the Grand Opera House to see a performance of Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers. As we study dramatic methods and their interpretations as a part of our courses it was an invaluable opportunity to see a script come to life on stage. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience with a few tears of both laughter and sadness throughout the performance. We were very impressed by Maureen Noleen’s performance as Mrs Johnstone, especially her moving song at the end of the show. We look forward to more theatre trips in the future.
