Two Wellington College Year 14 students, Nina and Joshua, recently attended the COP27 Climate Negotiation Simulation Event run by the British Council at Belfast City Hall.
Working with 27 other NI schools and an international school in Cairo, they discovered what it was like to negotiate a climate deal. Playing the role of Egypt alongside other developing nations and in discussions with the rest of the world, they were able to take part in a real-life climate simulation to produce a global agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
