Year 10 students at Geography field trip in Newcastle Co Down

Year 10 Geography Field Trip

28 Oct

Year 10 Geography classes made their annual fieldtrip to Murlough and Newcastle in September. They spent the morning on the beach collecting data on pebble size and shape, followed by the sampling of a variety of plant species in the sand dune succession. The data they have collected will be used to complete their fieldwork investigation in the classroom.

After a well-deserved lunch, the afternoon was spent contrasting the various coastal management strategies used by Down Council to prevent erosion along the promenade in Newcastle town centre.
