The Home Economics department recently hosted the final of the Great Wellington Bake Off, with eight talented pupils competing for the title of Star Baker. This year’s theme celebrated the College Houses—Lewis, Heaney, Ferguson and Peters—with each pupil designing a cake inspired by one of the Houses.

Our judges, Finbar and Maeve from Andrew Ingredients (our sponsors), alongside Mrs Managh of Sugar Mama Bakes, were extremely impressed by both the high standard of baking and the creativity of the designs.

The results were as follows:

• 3rd place: Hollie S (Year 10) for her Lewis Sapphire Slice cake, receiving a £20 Amazon voucher
• 2nd place: Ava M (Year 8) for her Chronicles of Wellington cake, receiving a £50 Amazon voucher
• 1st place: Poppy H (Year 11) for her Aspire cake, receiving a £100 Amazon voucher
