r Peter Chambers is leaving Wellington College at half-term, to become the Principal of the Rudolf Steiner School in Holywood. Our Principal, Mr Castles, paid this tribute to a very popular and talented colleague:

“Peter Chambers is a gentleman, held in high esteem by his colleagues and demonstrating a sweetness of character which we will sorely miss. Peter has made a substantial contribution to the life of the College, on the sports field, in the class room, and in the wider community.

Peter’s pastoral care and leadership, as a Year Head and in our well-being agenda have benefited many. Peter also forged links in the realm of Shared Education, forming a productive partnership with Aquinas Grammar. Many of our pupils have benefitted from the skills, character and lasting friendships developed on the Rugby pitch under Peter’s mentorship and direction.

Peter is stepping into school leadership, in a new context which is both exciting and challenging. I am sure that the skills and attributes which he has demonstrated at Wellington will stand him in good stead. We wish Peter every success as Head of the Hollywood Steiner School. On behalf of all at Wellington, I offer my thanks for years of service and all good wishes for the future both personally and professionally.”
