The Food and Nutrition department enjoyed a visit from a team from the Royal Navy to highlight careers in the Navy and to challenge students to a Ready Steady Cook style competition. The two Year 11 classes were brought together and then divided into 4 teams with each team making Spaghetti and Meatballs and Sticky Toffee Pudding with Toffee Sauce.
Working together as a team students prepared, cooked and served the 2 dishes in 1 hour 20 minutes with the fabulous results as shown in the photos. They also had the chance to develop their presentation skills and to learn how to do sugar work including sugar cages and spun sugar. This was a fantastic opportunity with everyone thoroughly enjoying the experience. Thanks to Jason, Rob and Harry from the Royal Navy for their delivery and assistance.
