Wellington College Belfast pupil Harvey Donnelly secures a prestigious scholarship to the University of Toronto.
The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship was created to bring exceptional students from around the world to study at the University of Toronto. Wellington College Belfastis delighted to announce that our own Harvey Donnelly (Year 14) has been selected as one of the scholarship recipients for 2021. This is an outstanding achievement as there were thousands of applicants from across the entire globe.
Harvey secured his scholarship place alongside 34 other elite students from 20 countries, including USA, India, Nigeria and South Africa. What makes this even more remarkable is that it is the second year in a row that Wellington College Belfast has secured a Pearson International Scholarship, with Harvey following in the footsteps of Molly Graham, who was selected as one of the scholarship recipients for 2020.
Wellington College Principal, Mr David Castles said; “This is a fantastic achievement by Harvey and all of us at Wellington College are very proud of him. Harvey has always been top-class pupil within our school and it is a clear reflection of his all-round skills and abilities that he has obtained such an outstanding award. We wish him well in his Canadian adventure and we know that he will continue to represent himself – and the College – with integrity, humility and excellence. Good luck, Harvey.”
Harvey, who will be studying Computer Sciences, noted that he “was deeply humbled and thrilled to be a recipient of the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship and excited to join the vibrant University of Toronto community this fall.”
The College is delighted with Harvey’s exceptional success and we wish him well for his upcoming Canadian studies.
