Mr Alan Moneypenny

29 Jul

It is with great sadness that the College has learned of the passing of Mr Alan Moneypenny, a long serving member and past Chair of the Board of Governors.

Mr Moneypenny was a former pupil of our predecessor school, Annadale Grammar School, and his association with Wellington College has been ongoing over many years. Mr Moneypenny strongly believed in education as a means of giving opportunity to all, and his driving force in supporting the College was to provide current generations of young people with the opportunities he had while at Annadale.

As a Board member Mr Moneypenny served with great character, commitment and a clear moral compass, giving generously of his time and expertise on numerous committees and panels in addition to terms as both Chair and Vice Chair. His leadership and initiative have created opportunities which have impacted the lives of many young people for the better.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr Moneypenny’s family and those close to him at this time of loss. Together we reflect on a life well lived.
